Trestleboard

FROM THE EAST

Brothers:

A new year begins, I want to thank you for allowing me the honor as serving as the Master. For those of you that were unable to attend we had a great time at the installation with our own Joe Weinberg officiating.
Our Junior warden has prepared a Seafood feast for both of our January meetings, we look forward to seeing more of our brothers in attendance to experience his culinary talents (or that of his wife Carol).
Each Monday this year will be at the lodge to practice our degree work. the first degree of the year will be an E.A. in late January. We appreciate the support of our past masters in their attendance both to teach us and to aid in the Degree Work. Remember, it takes a lot of people to put on degrees and we want to due our own and not farm them out to other lodges.
As we begin this year we are looking towards 2203. This will be our 75 anniversary. Please bring any old pictures or stories about the lodge so we may compile a history.

From the West.

Brothers, since this is the first Trestle Board of the year I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a happy New Year.

We are planning on having a very active year. First we will be having an E.A. Degree on March 28th. We are practicing every Monday night and would appreciate any brother who is able to come out and help.

You are aware that Florida has a new voting machine. I am arranging with the Supervisor of Elections to bring several of these machines to a special meeting on March 21 at 7:30 PM. This will be an open meeting and all are welcome to attend. We will be inviting all Masonic Bodies to attend also.

Our monthly breakfast are going on as usual and would appreciate your attendance, as always the first Sunday of the month from 8:00 to 12:00. Come meet our new chef, Brother Hendi Kaf for an extraordinaire treat. You will see many of our own as well as brothers from around the district.

We are planning additional improvement projects to the building, being yet finalized. If you haven’t been in lodge in a while come and see what has changed.

THE JR. WARDENS CORNER:

DEAR BROTHERS AND FRIENDS, I REALLY HOPE THAT YOU ALL HAVE BEEN ENJOYING THE FISH THAT WE HAVE BEEN SERVING AFTER OUR STATED MEETINGS. IT IS MY INTENTION TO SERVE A DIFFERENT KIND OF FISH AT EVERY STATED MEETING. THE NEXT MEETING WILL BE CATFISH FILLETS. I KNOW THAT THIS WILL BE POPULAR WITH A LOT OF YOU NATIVE SOUTHERNERS. I AM TAKING SUGGESTIONS FOR UPCOMING MEALS AND APPRECIATE ALL OF THE POSITIVE COMMENTS.

I KNOW THAT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO ATTEND ALL PRACTICES, BUT OUR ATTENDANCE AT MONDAY NIGHT PRACTICES IS EXTREMELY POOR. AND WE NEED IT TO IMPROVE. ESPECIALLY WITH THE APPOINTED OFFICERS. PLEASE MAKE A CONSCIOUS EFFORT TO ATTEND PRACTICES AS WE HAVE AN UPCOMING DEGREE IN MARCH.

WE NEED A VOLUNTEER TO CHANGE THE LIGHT BULB OVER THE ALTER. IT IS BURNED OUT. IT WILL ENTAIL SOME HIGH WORK ON A STEP LADDER.

THAT'S ABOUT IT, WITH ONE EXCEPTION, WE NEED MORE PETITIONS PLEASE LOOK FAR AND WIDE FOR A CANDIDATES THAT MEET THE CRITERIA OF A GOOD MASON. HAVE A HAPPY WASHINGTON'S BIRTHDAY EVERYONE.

SEE YA AT LODGE

Brothers:

Pleas check your dues card and see if you have paid. Dues payments have slowed to a trickle and we really want to keep you all as members. Hopefully in this months Trestleboard I will have a label telling you if you have not paid this years dues or Let Your pennies make good Sense.

I want to thank those of you who have paid more than the recommended amount towards LYPMGS. It helps make up for those that for what ever reason do not pay their fair share.

Please let us know if you have Web access and a e-mail address. We are planning on not mailing this to those that have an e-mail address as it will save us a tidy sum of money. Coral Springs lodge only mails theirs to about 25% of their members and saves a lot of money. Plus you will be more up to date by checking the web site more often.

Also, you should check out he Masonic Education Page every so often to see if there is any new information there. It can be very informing.

Brothers:

It would really be nice if we had more support from our own brothers at our monthly Breakfast on the 1st Sunday of each month. We only had 26 paying customers this month and not too many were from our Lodge. We still had some great fellowship, but more could be had if more showed up.

Fraternally,

Mike Lindell
